An Electoral District Day is a one-day participatory format at constituency level.
That is:
Participants are chosen by lot.
Participants meet for the Electoral District Day. There is professional moderation to ensure that everyone has their say and feels comfortable.
A federal policy issue is discussed together.
The participants receive information material that has been confirmed by scientific institutes and tested by former participants (so that everybody can understand it)
The discussions are based on the information material and the individual experiences of the participants.
In the morning, the selected participants discuss the topic in small groups and provide feedback on the topic to the politicians. In the afternoon, the members of parliament join them and the feedback is discussed together.
